Buttons are used for a quick adding of functionality to a page with records (list of records or detail of one record) or to a page with web parts. You can perform a number of operations by means of buttons, e.g. start a workflow, display a page according to input URL, execute a script, display a scheme etc. Buttons can be placed on toolbar or in the context menu.

Classes are used for storing data. Data in classes can be stored, modified and displayed by means of web pages, scripts, web services or directly on database level.

Class columns store the records data. Columns represent properties of records.

Advantage of webservices is integration of more applications into one bigger complex. Integration is possible across various platforms (windows, unix, linux) or various programming languages (.NET, java...).

Windows service is ObjectGears component that does not require user interaction. It ensures sending email notifications, job start, processing workflow, reading emails from mailboxes and time operations. The service has to be installed and its automatic start up has to be ensured.

Workflow represents a description of a process. It has its graphical representation and can be executed. Workflow consists of actvities that are linked. Workflow can have more versions and each worflow instance is executed in one of the versions. Uses might be assigned with tasks within the workflow.
