    Device is the main entity of the hardware layer of the Configuration database. It keeps physical devices and other tangible entities like servers, appliances, ATS switches, blade enclosures, disk enclosures, disk storages, FC switches, firewalls, GSM modems, IP switches, KVM switches, multifunctional devices, NAS, PBX, PTL, VTL...

    The main properties of the class Device:

    Property Description
    Code Code that each Configuration item is automatically assigned. Property inherited from the parent class Configuration item.
    Device type Type of device - e.g. servers, appliances, ATS switches, blade enclosures, disk enclosures, disk storages, FC switches, firewalls, GSM modems, IP switches, KVM switches, multifunctional devices, NAS, PBX, PTL, VTL...
    Manufacturer Manufacturer of the device.
    HW model Model of the device.
    Serial number Unique serial number of the device.
    Model configuration Reference to details of configuration for the given model that you are purchasing.
    Status Device status.
    Environment Environment, into which the server belongs (e.g. Development, Test, Acceptace, Production).
    Security zone Security zone, into which the server belongs (e.g. Internal network, particular DMZ, Internet).
    Description Description of the device.
    CPU type Type of CPU.
    Number of CPU Number of CPU of the device.
    Number of CPU core Number of CPU cores of the device.
    RAM RAM v GB.
    HDD Internal disks of the device.
    Parent device Parent device, in which is the device located. E.g. blade server has a blade enclosure as parent device.
    Owned by Owner of the device.
    Position Position (in the rack or out of the rack), in which the device can be found.
    Year of production Year of the device production.
    End of support End of support of the device by the manufacturer or another vendor.
    Hosted machine (OS server) Machine (OS server), that is hosted on the device - typically a physical (native) server running on the device.
    Comment Comment.
    Inventory number Inventory number of the device.
    Asset Reference to the asset item which the given device represents.
